Designer Vinyl Toys have been around for awhile and we haven’t quite decided if it’s a market we want to be in or not. Personally, I am a fan of some of them but others leave me wondering. Feelings here at the office are generally mixed, we only have one person who loves them and buys them reguarly, others are more casual fans and still others can’t stand them. I definetly appreciate them whether they are my favorite collectible or not.

None of that is really all that important nor is it shocking news. These toys are made in very limited runs and were never meant to please everyone. Our only real question is, will people buy them from YouBuyNow.com if we start stocking the ones we like? We did a very small test by bringing in My Little Cthulhu which was designed by John Kovalic, the creator of Dork Tower. It sold out within a few days. Granted, we didn’t buy a lot but it was still an interesting test.

Was it enough to make us dive into the designer toy market? No, but we are certainly more interested in testing the waters and carrying a few lines to see how they do. Got an opinion? Let us hear it!
