Warner Home Video has revealed the details of its February 26th, 2008 release of the animage movie based on Darwyn Cooke’s DC: The New Frontier graphic novel from 2004.  It will be similiar to the animated Movies that Marvel has been releasing lately in that it will go direct to DVD.  It is being produced by animation veteran Bruce Timm, JLA: The New Frontier is the epic saga of the founding of the Justice League. It features a top flight vocal cast including David Boreanaz, Brooke Shields, Lucy Lawless, Neil Patrick Harris, Miguel Ferrer, Kyra Sedgwick, Jeremy Sisto, and Kyle MacLachlan and will be available for an SRP of $19.98.  If the interest is high enough, we may start carrying these dirct to DVD movies at YouBuyNow.com.  Let us know what you think!

Variety is reporting that the director of Mad Max, George Miller, will bring a live action Justice League of America to the big screen.  They are projecting that the movie will be Warner Bros. big release for 2009.  Casting has already begun and filming is expected to take place in Australia. 

According to Variety the JLA movie “will likely feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and Aquaman,” but it is unlikely that Christian Bale and Brandon Routh will appear as Batman and Superman in the new JLA movie.  Damn!   Well, at least Damn for Christian Bale, Brandon Routh wasn’t all that great in my humble opinion. 

It’s too early to be too excited.  It’s going to be a very expensive film to make as a live action and according to Variety Batman helmer Christopher Nolan wants it delayed.  With so many superhero roles to fill the project, which is based on script by Kieran and Michael Mulroney, it is so very complicated and casting-dependent that, according to Variety, “even those deeply involved in the project are holding their breath until production begins.”

The production of this movie has caused Bryan Singer’s sequel to Superman Returns to be delayed. 

This could be an amazing movie if they can finally deliver it.  Up till now, few DC movies have been all that great.  Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Begins being the exception with Batman Begins being one of the best super hero movies ever made.  DC needs to deliver more if they want to make up for that horrid Catwoman thing they tried to call a movie.

The Franklin Mint and 20th Century Fox created and put into circulation 40,000 quarters with the Silver Surfer image on it. Unfortunately, the US Mint is not happy. They issued a statement on Friday stating that it is illegal to turn a coin into an advertising tool and warned that violators could be fined.

This isn’t the first time the Franklin Mint has created a collectible like this but it is the first time they put the coins into circulation.
